Does offering Sawm on certain number of consecutive days without breaking it during night suffice for the fasting during Ramadan? It is not permissible to do so. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :3089 Part :10 Page :88
What is the ruling on someone who starts offering Sawm only after sighting the new moon of Ramadan himself depending on the Hadith, “Start offering Sawm on seeing the new moon of Ramadan and give up Sawm on seeing it (the new moon of Shawwal)”? It is obligatory to offer Sawm when the sighting of the new moon is confirmed, even if by only one trustworthy Muslim. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :7753 Part :10 Page :94
Taking into consideration long or short duration of daytime, how should Sawm be observed in both cases? Sawm is obligatory in both cases. However, if one’s life is endangered, they may eat as much as may be enough to keep them alive, refrain from eating and drinking for the rest of the day, and then make up for the days missed later on. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :1442 Part :10 Page :114 - 115
Should an airline passenger break his Sawm if they find out through glancing at the watch or being informed by phone that it is time in the country, over which the plane is flying, for breaking the Sawm? It is not permissible for them to break the Sawm since they still see the sun. If a person breaks the Sawm in a country after the sun sets but when the plane takes off they still can see the sun, they should continue breaking their Sawm. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :1693 Part :10 Page :137
Is someone who does not observe Sawm, but performs Salah, judged to be a Kafir (disbeliever)? The person who does not observe Sawm denying its being obligatory is a Kafir whose Salah is invalid. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :6060 Part :10 Page :143
A woman taking pills to stop menstruation during Ramadan. It is permissible unless proved to be harmful to health. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :1216 Part :10 Page :151
An old lady was ignorant of the rulings on menstruation for many years during which she did not make up for missed Ramadan Sawms; what should she do? She has to repent to Allah and make up for the approximate number of missed Sawms. Besides, she should pay Kaffarah (expiation) for each day if possible. Otherwise, making up will be enough. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :1790 Part :10 Page :152
Does discharging a little amount of blood marking the beginning of menstrual period before sunset invalidate Sawm? If this marks the usual beginning of the period, it invalidates the Sawm even if little. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :8844 Part :10 Page :155
Should a woman whose postnatal bleeding stopped before the passage of forty days observe Sawm? Yes, she should observe Sawm if she sees Tuhr (white discharge signaling the end of postpartum blood). Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :10138 Part :10 Page :156
Does yellowish discharge seen after Tuhr (ritual purity) affect the validity of Sawm? It does not affect the validity of Sawm. Fatwas of the Permanent Committee - Group 1 - Fatwa :13507 Part :10

Hajj : Did it when I was about 5 years muslim. I found the constant moving around form one place to another to be very unsettling. But alhamdililah I got to touch the Qaba. Medina was wonderful. The trips between Safa and Marwa most enjoyable.
